Why Renegade Kid is creating a free-style scooter game

Renegade Kid's latest addition to its growing list of projects, Razor Global Domination Pro Tour, is a far cry from games like Mutant Mudds or Moon Chronicles. But its upcoming free-style scooter game will fit right into the developer's portfolio, according to co-founder Jools Watsham.

Watch Dogs Has No Gore, No Shooting While Driving, and Slightly Downgraded Visuals. But Still Fun.

Over the past couple of days, people have been freaking out over the downgraded visuals of Watch Dogs. As one of the few people who played the game for 90 minutes, I can vouch that it's true. The visuals aren't as hot as what Ubisoft made them out to be back in E3 2012. The game also has some other weird limitations as well. But those don't necessarily make it a lesser game.

The Web Graffiti: "Today is the age of machines, technology is advancing every day , we have smart phones and now is the age of phablets, now think what if there was a phablet which looked like a gaming console along with feature of a smart phone, how does that sound? Furthermore, it has a striking resemblance to the Sony PS Vita, could almost pass off as one."

Why Is Sucker Punch Being So Secretive About PS4 Exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son?

Push Square: "The build-up to inFAMOUS: Second Son has been a subject of much discussion here at Push Square towers over the past few months. Its clear that Sony as a whole has changed its approach to product launches, opting to announce titles much later and show much less of them. However, the firms been particularly secretive when it comes to Sucker Punchs upcoming superhero exclusive, prompting us to ponder why. Fortunately, we were able to put that question directly to brand development director Ken Schramm earlier this week, and he assured us that its all intentional."

Review: Towerfall Ascension [Broken Cartridge]

Broken Cartridge: "It has been about a year since Towerfall was released on the Ouya, immediately becoming one of the few must buy titles on the console. Towerfall is an amazing fighting/platforming game where your character uses their arching skills to take out the enemy. While it was on the Ouya it only had a local multiplayer game mode, but the new release for Playstation 4 and PC expands the horizon for the game entirely."

An Attempt To Understand Watch Dogs' Graphics Downgrade

While its fantastic that Watch Dogs has a new release date at last (May 27th), the story trailer that accompanied the announcement yesterday is drawing a fair bit of criticism from those who think the delay has made the game look worse, rather than better. Forum posters on NeoGAF specifically have laid into the game after posting side-by-side comparisons of the most recent footage from what we were shown at E3. In the specific scenes highlighted, the difference is undeniably noticeable. There are a few explanations for this.

The next-gen Digital Foundry PC: chasing the 1080p60 dream

It's often been said that both next-gen consoles are effectively based on mid-range PC technology, and as our recent tests indicate, matching or even exceeding current Xbox One or PS4 performance with modest PC components doesn't seem to be too difficult. But can we go one better? Can we build a PC that provides a quantifiably better, truly transformative experience? And can we do it at with a competitive budget?

Developers at SOF Studios, lead by former Lead Game Designer for Socom 1 and Socom 2 have released a new video featuring some fun with PMN mines. Bear in mind, this is still very early beta. Direct quote from SOF Studios Facebook page regarding video "Our Kickstarter campaign was to produce a Demo (proof of concept) which is what you are all seeing pieces of now. That concept is then shopped out of VC's (Venture Capitalists) to secure the funding to head into game development."

Watch Dog Woes

Yesterday Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs would be released on May 27th this year on all platforms except the Wii U (which may not even make it out in 2014). After the game was delayed last year, Ubisoft might have expected a little more excitement surrounding the semi-close release date. However, the internet struck back.

10 WTF Moments Sony Style

CCC Says: "Sony has had a checkered past with gaming systems, launches, online gaming and a whole bunch of other stuff, but the truth of it is that they are a company just like Nintendo or Microsoft and they are ultimately out to make money. Within that model, there is always a time when the eggheads in sales have an idea that could make the company a buttload of money and they spin it so well that the bigwigs forget that the consumer will actually have to buy into it as well. Here are some of the top WTF moments for Sony."
