With a new variant of Covid sweeping the globe, the Entertainment Software Association has once again decided to make this year's E3 event online only.E3 2022, like E3 2021, will be a virtual affair despite the ESA's desire last year to host an in-person event for 2022. In a statement, the ESA said it will not host an in-person event in June due to the "potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees." In spite of this, the association said it is still "incredibly excited about the future of E3" and looks forward to announcing more details soon. Read more

E3: E3 2022 Wont Be Held in Person Online Show Not Confirmed Yet

Could be a cover-up.The ESA has confirmed E3 2022 won't be held in person in a statement issued this evening. Citing the "ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees", the show will not be something both journalists and the public can physically attend this year. Interestingly, though, the statement doesn't mention whether E3 will be presented digitally for a second year running. While it may be a safe assumption the ESA does have something planned for the summer months, it hasn't come out and confirmed anything at the time of writing.…

E3: E3 2022 Will Be OnlineOnly Again Due To Pandemic

E3 2022 was expected to be the first time since 2019 that the event was held in person, as the COVID-19 pandemic--and its several variants since--had made it unsafe for such a large gathering to take place over the past two years. Now, that's not happening either, as the ESA has decided to shift E3 to an online-only format again this year.Speaking to GamesBeat, the ESA said the decision was made because of the virus and its "potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees." The organization later gave us the full statement, which you can read below:"Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding…

Star Wars Celebration seems likely.A sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be announced just prior to E3 2022, gaming sleuth Jeff Grubb reckons. The GamesBeat journalist made the comment on the latest episode of his GiantBomb show GrubbSnax, which is behind a paywall. We will apparently be hearing about the sequel "in a significant way" before the big Los Angeles convention and a release this year is on the cards, but don't be surprised if the title slips into 2023.With E3 2022 taking place in June, the annual Star Wars Celebration currently slated for the end of May appears to be the likely…

E3: E3 2022 Everything We Know

E3 has been a staple of the games industry for decades, but its last few years have been tumultuous to say the least. As some major players like EA and Sony have begun jumping out of the event in favor of running their own E3-adjacent shows in the summertime, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has had to seek new ways to get people to tune in. Just as the show began to pivot to a more fan-oriented format and away from the press event it once was, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and disrupted the show more than ever. E3 2022 is now seemingly back on track, but with so many questions still to…

E3: Longawaited 60 FPS patch may be on the way for Assassins Creed Origins

During what Ubisoft calls Assassin’s Creed Day on Twitter, the official account announced the possible intent of adding the ability to play Assassin’s Creed Origins in 60 FPS, a feature that fans have been requesting for a while now. It’s unlikely that this would apply to last-gen consoles given how they work, meaning players would need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X/S to really benefit from it. Still, given how the following two entries in the series both can run at 60 FPS and Origins represents the new beginning point for the series, it’s only appropriate that Origins achieves…

E3: TopDown Racing Game Circuit Superstars Finally Speeds to PS4 in January

Slow starter. If you've been waiting for Circuit Superstars to come to PlayStation 4, you're finally in luck. It turns out the game has been in early access on PC since it was unveiled, and released on Xbox earlier this year (hence the trailer above). Now, it's PS4's turn at last. The game might look like Micro Machines, but it's apparently far more hardcore than that. While it is cartoonish and presented from a bird's eye view, this is intended to be a racing simulation, with the on-track…
